The
International Fair of Tripoli City hosted on Sunday, May 23, 2021, the opening
of the first edition of the economic exhibition called: Tunisian-Libyan
Economic Forum and Exhibition. The ceremony was highlighted by the presence of
the Prime Minister of Libya Mr. Abdelhamid Dbeibah and his Tunisian counterpart
Mr. Hichem Mechichi, and several other ministers of both countries as well as
the central Mayor of the city of Tripoli surrounded by his municipal Councilors.
The
fair which is entitled "Africa business portal" will take place from
23 to 25 May 2021 and will bring together nearly 250 companies, Libyan and
Tunisian banking services institutions and will witness the participation of
about 1200 businessmen from both countries. It should be recalled
that this exhibition was organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and
Agriculture of Sabah, in collaboration with the Council of Libyan and Tunisian
businessmen.
The Chairperson of this institution said that the holding of this fair
aims at strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries and
allow them to develop a common approach to Africa, so that Tunisia and Libya
are a gateway to the world countries interested in the African market. He also
said that this fair offers to the economic actors of both countries an
opportunity to reposition themselves through a substantial improvement of trade
and investment volumes between the two countries.
The Bank is therefore partaking
in this exhibition as one of the sponsors of the fair and is hosting one of the
pavilions in the exhibition gallery (pavilion 33 - exhibition room No.
20). This participation will be used to
give more visibility to the Bank's objectives and to seek ways and means for a
better cooperation between the Bank and Tunisian companies and service
institutions. Dr. Ahmed Abou NAAMAT, the Bank's Communication Adviser,
will also take the opportunity to make a presentation on the role of the Banque Sahélo-Saharienne pour l’Investissement et le
Commercein the economic development of the African continent.
